55th Anniversary Ball / St Andrew's Night

Dear Caledonian,

The Committee are once again proud and grateful to announce that The British Ambassador to Norway, His Excellency Sir Richard Dales and his wife Elisabeth, have most generously offered to host a Dinner Dance for us and our partners in their official residence. The evening will take the form of a 3 course "sit down dinner" followed by dancing. Donations from the evening¹s proceeds will be given to Scottish and Norwegian charities. As this is also our official St Andrew¹s Night celebration, we will of course try to focus on the Scottish aspect of the occasion, and as such we hope for participation from The St Andrew Society of Trondheim, The Oslo Scottish Country Dance Group, The Oslo Caledonian Pipe Band and The British Embassy.

Please note the following details:

Date: Friday, 16th November 2001.

Time: Arrive at Embassy at 2000 hrs, depart Embassy by 0100 hrs.

Dress: Highland Dress / Lowland Dress / Bunad / Uniform / Black Tie.

Menu. Starter : Smoked Haddock in mustard sauce. Entree : Duck breast with whisky, honey and soy sauce. Pudding : Scottish trifle.

Cost: NOK 600,- per person to be collected on arrival. This includes Dinner, Dance and all drinks before and during dinner, and a contribution to charity.

Raffle: There will be a free raffle, with prizes from the Embassy and the Caledonian Society. Invitations will be numbered and this will be your raffle ticket number.
