Dear Caledonian,

It again gives me much pleasure, on behalf of your Committee, to invite you to our second ordinary meeting of the season and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Few indeed are those who are privileged to have permanent visual "monuments" to their presence here on our planet.Among the artists, writers, sculptors and others in that select group is the architect.

This evening we are pleased to have as our Speaker one of the driving forces in the highly successful company Snøhetta, Mr. Robert Greenwood. Snøhetta is at the forefront of architectural design and has achieved international acclaim for, amongst other major projects, the National Library in Alexandria, Egypt.

Details of this evening’s talk are as follows:
Speaker: Mr. Robert Greenwood
Theme: Snøhetta and their design for the Turner Museum in Margate
Time/date: 18.30 hrs. Thursday 31st October 2002
Venue: Sjømannsforeningen, Kronprinsensgt. 1, 0251 Oslo

Mr. Greenwood was educated at the University of Liverpool and has followed his passion for architecture during the past 20 years. We can therefore look forward to a talk by a dedicated and involved Speaker who will bring us behind the scenes at Snøhetta itself and no doubt give us some idea of the preparation necessary before competing internationally for the design and construction of a project such as the Turner Museum in Margate. He will probably also mention the company’s latest triumph, the Tjuveholmen project here in Oslo!

As usual, members will be able to enjoy our offer of Dinner, which we hope will bear more of a Scottish flavour from now on, with wines and coffee at the subsidised price of Kr. 200,- per head, and of course guests will be most welcome at the full price of Kr. 270.

R.S.V.P:Chris Maile on Telephone 915 34 035 (you may meet an answering machine), or by sending him an e-mail at house@cally.org NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY 20th NOVEMBER.
