Dear Caledonian,

It again gives me much pleasure, on behalf of your Committee, to invite you to our last ordinary meeting of the winter season and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible before the AGM next month. Our Speaker on this occasion has a colourful and many faceted connection with both practical Art and its academic History. As a designer using gold and silver, he has earlier been responsible for the design of the Norwegian "Kongelig Fortjeneste Orden". As Professor of Art History with a degree in Norwegian Middle Ages Art, Prof.Alf Hammervold today lectures both at the University of Oslo and Kunsthøyskolen. He has also enjoyed involvement with classical archeology on site in Rome.

Details of this evening’s talk are as follows:
Speaker:
Prof. Alf Hammervold
Theme:
Icons - Theology in colour
Time/date:
18.30 hrs. Thursday 27th March 2003
Venue:
Sjømannsforeningen, Kronprinsensgt. 1, 0251 Oslo

Prof. Hammervold is pleased to be have the opportunity to present his subject to us, and making the connection with Scotland’s St.Andrew. We can therefore look forward to a talk on, for many of us, a new and absorbing subject. As usual, members will be able to enjoy our offer of Dinner, which we hope will bear more of a Scottish flavour from now on, with wines and coffee at the subsidised price of Kr. 200,- per head, and of course, guests will be most welcome at the full price of Kr. 270,-

Yours Aye,
Norman Henderson
