Dear Caledonian and members of the Oslo Scottish Country dance Group

ST ANDREW'S BALL
SJØMANNSFORENINGEN
18:30, Friday 28th November 2003

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to our annual St Andrew's Day Ball, together with some of the members of the Oslo Caledonian Pipe Band.

The members of the Caledonian Society and the O.S.C.D.G. are fortunate in that they can start early the festivities which normally occur in December, by attending this year's Ball, which will be held on Friday 28th November at our regular meeting place, Sjømannsforeningen.

As I indicated in our last circular, the number of couples will be limited to 50 and tickets will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. We will however establish a waiting list which will be established on a chronological basis. Those on the list who may take over cancelled bookings will be informed as quickly as possible before the event.

For those who require a bit of "pre-Ball" training, the country dance group has kindly offered to give us a quick brush-up on our dancing skills on Monday 24th November. This refresher course will take place at Nydalen Samfunnshus which is (in the words of David Wylie) "a wee wooden building, on the ring road by Ullevål station, into the Tåsen tunnel and first right after you drive out of the tunnel, under the railway and its on your right, opposite NetCom. Or more correctly Ring 3, into Sandakerveien, turn right into Gjerdums vei to find Nydalen Samfunnshus".

The ticket price for the Ball including wine or beer, is Kr 500/head. Also included in the price is one raffle ticket (with extraordinary prizes), and as usual, we will be serving our own selection of whiskies and Drambuie at Club prices, while all other drinks will be available from the Caterer's bar.

Please make your reservations for the Ball and the refresher course by calling David Wylie on telephone 997 91049 or by sending him an e-mail at house@cally.org NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY 19TH NOVEMBER.

Yours aye,
