 DECEMBER (CHRISTMAS) MEETING

Because of the short time frame between the St Andrews Ball and the December meeting, some of you may receive this before you have attended the Ball.  Nevermind, at least you will have plenty of advance warning for the next meeting which will be held on Thursday 11 December 2003, at our usual location Sjømannsforeningen, starting at 18:30. 

We will have the pleasure of hearing our fellow member and well known television personality Torkjell Berulfsen talking on the subject of “Alcohol is good for you”  (I thought everyone knew this already, but maybe Torkjell can add a few new insights for us).  As Torkjell has another appointment later that evening, we will turn the evening’s programme on its head by having dinner after listening to Torkjell, so please don’t be late.

Please note that we will award the five bottles of whisky at the Christmas meeting to the following lucky winners:  Jim Doyle, Gunnar John Coll, David Bruton, Fridtjov Backer and Nils Ekjord.  These bottles will be presented personally (no proxies allowed) and any unclaimed bottles will go into the raffle draw (or alternatively be confiscated by the Committee!).

 I look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting, but for those of you who cannot attend, let me wish you season’s greetings and I hope to see you at the Burns Night.
