Yay or Nay?
The Scottish Referendum

Your Committee is pleased to welcome you to the Caledonian Society's debate on the Scottish Referendum!

The Referendum on 18th September 2014 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for people in Scotland to have their say about the country’s future. Should Scotland become an independent nation, or is the best solution to remain part of the United Kingdom? What are the pro's and what are the con's?

In order to enlighten our members on this important and highly interesting subject, we have invited two distinguished gentlemen to engage in a friendly debate. We do not envisage that agreement will be reached, but we do hope that the event will help shed some light on this complex political, and indeed emotional, question.

Representing the two parties, we are pleased to present;
Pro independance: Richard Eric Laurence Oliphant of that Ilk and of Condie, Chief of Clan Oliphant.
Pro Union: Professor David E. Brooks.

When: Thursday 28th August 2014. Doors open 18:00 for a 18:30 start.
Where: Oslo Hospital, Ekebergveien 1. Take tram 18 or 19 towards Ljabru from Jernbanetorget to the stop Oslo Hospital.
How Much: 400 NOK for members and 450 NOK for guests.
