Philip Paris is a writer in the Highlands of Scotland and has recently had published a book that may be of interest to some members. The Italian chapel in Orkney is one of Scotland's most famous tourist attractions, and one of the greatest symbols of hope and peace to come out of the Second World War.

The chapel was built by Italian prisoners of war and although it is known around the world its story has never been told before in any depth. During more than three years of research Philip has tracked down people who had been POWs in the Orkney camps, as well as the families of some of the key artists and the people who ran Camp 60, in which the chapel was built. The result is the historical fiction The Italian Chapel, which tells the true story of how the building came into existence.
